If you’re broke, on a budget or just one of those sultry bastards unwilling to pay for music, I thought of you when I wrote this. So instead of clogging up the blog machine up with a bunch of different posts, I decided to consolidate a handful of tracks I’ve either received in my inbox recently or taken from SoundCloud recently.
First up is another London/Bristol artist – it’s a bit different from what I’d normally post, but I liked it so much when I heard it I asked Niall if we could get a copy for the blog. Fun, idyllic, a little different from Cropper’s normal stuff as well, but nonetheless a very tasty bounce to it with a lovely sub and a plethora of gliding synths. Here’s another track, something I wouldn’t typically throw in either from L.A., the one and only DâM-FunK. And since DâM-FunK just played in Austin last week, and from by the looks of it, the whole night went off, I thought I’d shine what humble light I’m capable of shining on the modern-American-funk-ist with this new freebie. A bit of dissonance goes a long way when you’re this guy:
